The iconic Ocean Beach Hotel is a long-standing watering hole for White Rock locals and visiting tourists.
Built in 1930, the building has a rich history which has worn many hats through the years. In 1996, the
Ocean Beach Hotel was renovated and reborn as a popular nightclub. The “OB”, as it was commonly
known, quickly built a strong and loyal following. It became a favourite party place and sports bar for
young people from throughout the Lower Mainland, as well as American college students, and they
were welcomed through its doors in droves. Event nights held on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at
the “OB” became synonymous with long lineups down the beachfront.
In 2010, the “OB” was again extensively renovated and reopened as an upscale lounge and nightclub.
Open seven days a week, the Ocean Beach Lounge is warm and inviting. But it maintains its sports bar
appeal with 11 high-definition TV screens, which allow you to dine on gourmet pub food while watching
your favourite sporting events. In keeping with tradition, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights still
boast the best in nightclub experiences in the Greater Vancouver area.
While the Ocean Beach has undergone many changes over the years, it still retains today the loyalty of
many of the original patrons of the “OB”. Despite all the changes, the one thing that has always stayed
consistent is the unique Ocean Beach experience that our customers take away with them – and that’s
what keeps them coming back.
